Janet Kinosian is an award-winning journalist who has written for the Los Angeles Times, Los Angeles Times Magazine, The Washington Post, W, Saturday Evening Post, LIFE, People, Reader’s Digest, O, The New York Times, The New York Times Syndicate, The Los Angeles Times Syndicate International and The London Times, among many others.

She has a B.A. in Psychology from UCLA and an M.A. in Counseling Psychology from Loyola Marymount University. She did postgraduate studies in neuropsychology and psychopharmacology at UC Berkeley and in poetry and creative writing at Harvard University, having won a New Letters Poetry Prize.

On a more personal note and in no particular order, she loves white stars, gardenias and Persian jasmine, Pablo Neruda, crystal chandeliers, jewelry, real character, California pepper trees, meditation, all dogs, global outreach, Balinese statuary, Huckleberry friendship, daily prayer, Dublin + Belfast, Beatles music, my dalmatian/labrador Luther Buddha Freckleman, being a reporter, sacred music, the very large gift called poetry, orthodox church candles, expensive purses, email, children’s books, memorizing the unfashionable poems of Percy Bysshe Shelley, chasing the most complicated, most whimsical, most monumental laugh in all of mankind, and (the search for) truth.
